A graham cracker crust, butterscotch and chocolate chips, pecans, coconut, and sweetened condensed milk all combine to make these Magic Bars!
Magic Bars | What are they?
Magic Bars go by many names (Magic Cookie Bars, 7-Layer Bars, and Hello Dolly Bars are just a few). They’re basically heaven in bar form, but in all seriousness, this dessert is 7 layers of ingredients all stacked on top of one another then baked until warm and gooey.
Main Ingredients Needed
You only need 7 ingredients for these amazing Magic Bars! Here’s a breakdown of everything you’ll need:
- Butter – this stuff is melted and added to the graham cracker crumbs to create a crust. Optional step is to brown your butter for a rich and nutty flavor.
- Graham Cracker Crumbs – this creates a simple yet yummy base for the rest of the ingredients. You could also use oreo crumbs here, just sayin.
- Butterscotch Chips – if you’re not a huge fan of these use white chocolate chips or even PB chips!
- Chocolate Chips – who doesn’t love chocolate. Milk, semi-sweet or dark, the choice is yours!
- Pecans – chopped and optionally toasted. You could also use walnuts here.
- Coconut Shreds – use these plain or toast them before baking.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – this tops the entire thing and makes everything ooey-gooey and good. Add a bit of vanilla for a stronger taste.
