Ingredients
 
 

For the apple filling:

  • 4 granny smith apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

For the crisp topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 7 tablespoons cold butter cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats optional

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter your baking dish.
  2. Wash, peel, core, and slice apples. Toss and coat with flour, sugar, melted butter, and lemon juice. Pour into the prepared pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, cut together all of the ingredients for the topping. Finish off by mixing with your hands for 1-2 minutes or until it comes together.
  4. Top the apple filling evenly with the crisp topping.
  5. Bake 35-45 minutes or until the apples are soft. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
