Chocolate Pie
Fast, easy and oh so chocolately, this Chocolate Pie recipe will make you forget the rest! Topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
Ingredients
- 9 inch "blind baked" pie shell I used a Marie Callender's frozen crust*
- 8 oz semisweet baking chocolate I used Ghiradelli chocolate
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar optional
- 2 cups cold milk
- 5.1 oz package instant chocolate pudding
- chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Start by melting the chocolate in the microwave, in increments. Once 2/3rds of the way melted, stir to melt all the way. Set aside to cool.
- In a separate bowl combine the cream, powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl mix milk and pudding mix until smooth. Let thicken for about 3 minutes before whipping in melted chocolate. Then fold in half of the whipped cream.
- Pour filling into the baked and cooled pie shell. Top with the rest of the whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
- Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until ready to serve.
