9inch"blind baked" pie shellI used a Marie Callender's frozen crust*
8ozsemisweet baking chocolateI used Ghiradelli chocolate
2cupsheavy whipping cream
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1/4cuppowdered sugaroptional
2cupscold milk
5.1ozpackage instant chocolate pudding
chocolate shavingsfor garnish
Instructions
Start by melting the chocolate in the microwave, in increments. Once 2/3rds of the way melted, stir to melt all the way. Set aside to cool.
In a separate bowl combine the cream, powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
In another bowl mix milk and pudding mix until smooth. Let thicken for about 3 minutes before whipping in melted chocolate. Then fold in half of the whipped cream.
Pour filling into the baked and cooled pie shell. Top with the rest of the whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until ready to serve.
