Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Chocolate chips, chunks and walnuts, these soft and chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are the best! So much easier to make than cookies!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 3/4 cup butter 1 1/2 sticks or 12 tablespoons
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×13 pan with foil or parchment paper, set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large microwave-safe bowl then stir in brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  • Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until light in color.
  • Next add in flour, baking soda, and salt. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure a well-mixed dough.
  • Finally mix in the chocolate chips, chunks, and walnuts. Press dough into prepared pan.
  • Bake 15-18 minutes or until the center is mostly cooked. Then cool 15 minutes before cutting.
